Cabinet approves Rs 1.64 lakh crore revival package for BSNL
The package will have three main elements - improving the quality of BSNL Corporate services, de-stressing the balance sheet, and expanding the fiber reach through the merger will be connecting all.
Govt to provide 4G mobile services in 24,680 uncovered villages at total cost of Rs 26,316 crore
With the merger, BSNL will get an additional 5.67 lakh kilometre of optical fibre which has been laid across 1.85 lakh village panchayats.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji approved Rs. 1.64 Lakh Crore package for the revival of BSNL.

Today's #CabinetDecisions include the merger of BBNL and BSNL with Upgradation of BSNL Services using 4G technology.
With comprehensive package of Rs 1.64 Lakh Cr, BSNL will upgrade services, provide high-quality 4G services & immediately advance to 5G services. Its Balance Sheet structure will be restructured so that BSNL will emerge as a sustainable, viable entity: Union Min Ashwini Vaishnaw.

They need a complete overhaul if they want to exist, else will just end up wasting taxpayers money. Need some big change in the way these cos are operated
